Pitts

Gilbert Brown has been suspended from competition in the NCAA this fall, because of his academic problems. It’s not immediately clear whether he has normally got academic difficulties or if it’s just a tough class that got the better of him. But Pittsburgh will have to get along without him for the first part of this season. But perhaps in January he’ll be back. In fact, he’s eligible to start back on December 20th, depending on his academic performance up till then. Last year, he played 37 games with an average over a little over 6 points a game. That can be a big deal in a college game. It will be a good year for this team otherwise, as they went far into the tournament this year, but it’s going to be a little bit harder without Gilbert on the court.
