South Carolina Brought Into Scandals

July 7th, 2009 Posted in Uncategorized

South Carolina University has reported their own ethics and competition violations to the NCAA and it’s rather interesting to hear what actually happened. There are only 5 violations that rise to the more serious level. Some of the lower level ones include giving recruits improper snacks during away-from-home competition. Other violations dealt with giving the student recruits special treatment and giving them things that they shouldn’t. The penalties that S. Carolina will incur is probably not a huge problem, but we will have to watch for more schools to find themselves in difficult situations like this. These appear to be just mistakes rather than purposeful attempts at getting the better recruits.
