New Mexico Cuts
April 21st, 2009 Posted in Uncategorized
New Mexico athletics will be cutting their budgets for athletics by as much as 10 percent over the coming year. At first, this sounds like a major danger to the Lobos’ future in the Final Four and other competitions, but then the school has clarified their situation: they will be only cutting by making things more efficient. They will book their athletic travel further in advance and also will cut their attendance at conventions. It’s not a bad way to save some money and it hurts no one at all. They will not be cutting scholarships or athletic medical care as part of this financial plan. It’s merely trimming some of the other issues. The competitiveness of the team will not be compromised at all.
