Kerfluffle

There was an interesting kerfluffle in the UConn world this week. UConn is doing a great job this season, remaining in the #2 spot and playing their hearts out. But there was a question at the press conference earlier this week that nearly brought the whole thing down. The question was from a Michael Moore-like journalist who asked the coach, Mr. Calhoun, why it was that he deserved a seven figure paycheck, especially with state governments in debt and people losing jobs. Mr. Calhoun’s answer was a source of the controversy though. His angry outburst as the questions kept coming brought the conversation to a nationwide boil. It’s the kind of issue that can make things very difficult for a person who needs to make allies all around. His answer was that the basketball program brings in a lot of money was the right answer, but perhaps he delivered it the wrong way.
