Yesterday was a battle of different denominations. Presbyterian played against Marquette in NCAA basketball action. Actually, it was much more a battle of basketball teams, and has no wider implications. Marquette is ranked #25 and Presbyterian has no ranking. Not surprisingly, Marquette won by a large margin, 84-45. The Marquette Golden Eagles are currently 11-2 on the season and are having a good time. It’s sort of entertaining that the Presbyterian team is nicknamed the “Blue Hose”, and they definitely got hosed in this game. But they were overmatched, and they tried their best, it seems. How can you go up against a ranked team fairly anyway?
