Friday night, only hours before Saturday mornings first “official” team practice, the Maryland Terrapins put on an exhibition practice for students and fans. In a tradition that dates back to the 1970s, “Maryland Madness” gives fans a chance to see the squad one more time before they get down to the season’s business. During its first few years, the event was know as”Midnight Madness” because the players would take the court at the stroke of midnight on the first day of official practice. Since then, the program has relaxed a bit and started the ceremonies at 7:20 pm. Stay up-to-date with NCAA basketball and vist ncaa.com to learn more.
