UConn Player Expelled
October 7th, 2008 Posted in UncategorizedShortly after he was arrested for violating the conditions of his restraining order, UConn basketball player Nate Miles was expelled from the academy in an administrative hearing this past Thursday. As of right now, Miles has told local papers and reporters that he does not yet know if he will appeal the school’s decision.
Sean Patterson, former youth coach become legal guardian to Miles, is much more adamant against the school’s decision. Claiming that Miles was “railroaded,” he feels that it is an incredible knee-jerk reaction on the part of the University of Connecticut. He feels the 6 foot 7 inch forward is being grossly mistreated.
Representatives from UConn have yet to comment and only cited student/school confidentiality reasons for his expulsion.
Miles was given a restraining order after allegedly attempting to force sex on an anonymous woman. On September 22nd, he was served a restraining order from the court, only to break the conditions twenty minutes later when he placed a telephone call to the woman.
