Kansas Finally Gets Rings
September 25th, 2008 Posted in UncategorizedLast year’s fantastic run was once more discussed and dissected by players and coaches alike this past Friday when the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team received their NCAA Championship rings for the 2007-2008 season. It was a private, family-like celebration that took place in Lawrence, Kansas.
Present to the occasion were Brandon Rush, Mario Chalmers, and Darnell Jackson: three recent NBA-drafted basketball players. Coaches, friends, faculty, and Kansas alumni/NBA veterans were also on hand to witness the ceremony. In total, about 100 people filled the Naismith Room at Allen Fieldhouse. Once the room was filled, members of the party were treated to video footage of the Jayhawks 2007-2008 season, as well as many of the highlights from the University’s rich basketball history.
Only 3 of the 17 members of the 2007-2008 Jayhawks roster were unable to make it due to previous obligations.
