The Kansas Jayhawks, coming off their winningest record in school history (37-3) and their third NCAA Championship Title, will begin their season much earlier than usual with a trip to Canada. Tonight (August 29th), the Jayhawks depart for Ottawa, Ontario, Canada for a series of three exhibition games against McGill University, Carleton University, and Ottawa University. The first two games will be played on Saturday with the third on Sunday, just in time for the Jayhawks to make it back to Kansas on Labor Day.

The three exhibition games will be a great gauge for head coach Bill Self and his Jayhawks basketball team. Losing all 5 of their starters from last year and 9 letter winners total, the Jayhawks will need to see how their squad works as a unit without the stars of last year. On the plus side, Kansas does return with 8 other letter winners. Included in this list of returnees are: Tyrel Reed, Conner Teahan, and Matt Kleinmann. All three are expected to post not only big numbers in Canada, but also throughout the season.

Additionally, redshirted freshman and transfer students will have opportunities to plug the gaps left by the Jayhawks who left. Bill Self stoically believes in his team and their chances for a repeat this season.
