The 12th seeded Vilanova surprised the 5th seeded Clemnson by securing a convincing win of 75-69 for the NCAA tournament and have been in top form lately as they have scored fourth upset of the tournament. Jay Wright, the Villanova coach, said that it is incredible that his side could pull this game as well and now has the maximum wins by any lower ranked team in the NCAA tournament since 1979. Scottie Reynolds scored the maximum of 21 points for the Villanova and was ably supported by Corey Fish who scored 17 points.

The Wildcats were once trailing by a deficit of 18 points in the first half, but Reynolds and Fisher were determined not to succumb and converted a few 3 pointer shots. Reynolds had a very good game and his off balance three pointer with Clemson’s Cliff Hammonds in his face was an amazing attempt. Villanova are trying to prove everyone wrong and want to make a statement that they too deserve a place in the 65 team field.
