Hurricanes Lashes Dukes
February 22nd, 2008 Posted in basketballMiami Hurricanes won over the No.5 Duke after a long wait. They have packed down the Blue Devils after a long gap of 45 years for a score of 96-95. Although the Dukes wanted to win the game after a defeat they had in the first conference, the Hurricanes toppled all the plans of Dukes. Throughout the game the Hurricanes were having an upper hand over the Duke and they scored 15 consecutive points to get a big lead in the second half. Blue Devils failed to do justice to their 2nd Rank which they acquired just last week. The coach of NO.5 Duke felt that their team is missing some thing and someone has invaded the bodies of his players as they lost two matches within four days.
Miami Hurricanes had their last win against Dukes in December 21st 1962. Since that all the games were won by the Blue Devils. Jack McClinton has scored 22points for Hurricanes and the 6 successful free throws in the last 41 seconds preserved the lead of Hurricanes. Dwayne Collins made 26 points to support Hurricanes in its victory, which is his career high. For Frank Haith, the coach of Hurricanes this is a special win and he feels that the atmosphere they had during the game was terrific.
