A Few Celtics Tidbits
February 15th, 2008 Posted in ncaa basketballSome people say coach Doc Rivers became a better head basketball coach when the Celtics got Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. Although there had been skeptical remarks that it would be impossible to put three basketball superstars — Paul Pierce, Garnett, and Allen — together, Rivers has successfully kept them playing in harmony while achieving the best NBA record. The three basketball stars obviously deserve credit for the team’s success, because they have set aside individual glory and worked together to bring success to the team. Coach Rivers has helped the Celtics to live up to high expectations so far.
The team has a good chance at the Eastern Conference, with the Detroit Pistons as their toughest competition. When the Celtics face the Pistons, they would have to maintain outstanding defense, and their superstars had better be in tiptop shape.
Kevin Garnett is definitely something to watch out for in the second half. He is a high scorer, a defender, and a rebounder. He is presently resting and recovering from an abdominal strain. His presence in the second half will certainly be needed.
How about rumors that point guard Sam Cassell would be transferring over to the Celtics? This may be possible, but the Clippers are looking into a first-round draft pick
