He was rushed to Adena Regional Medical Center but he was soon pronounced dead, to the shock of the entire Ohio University-Chillicothe. Questions about his sudden death are now being answered as the coroner announced that the player from Hampton had an enlarged heart. This finding was part of the coroner’s preliminary ruling. The results of his autopsy are not yet out, however, and Dr. John Gabis advised that they will be out in about two weeks. A memorial service for Davis will be held on Friday at the University. All sports activities and events had been suspended in the school until after the memorial service, and activities will resume on Saturday. Davis’ coach Eric Snyder describes him as someone who loved basketball and his teammates. He said that his memory will always be honored when they take the floor. They are dedicating the remaining season to Davis’ memory. Davis’ teammates have suffered loss at his death, but this has taught them to be even closer to each other than before. Snyder states that the team’s closeness now will help them heal faster from the pain of losing a teammate.
