Jordan Crawford will play for the Xavier this season

The Indiana Hoosiers guard Jordan Crawford has transferred top the Xavier team and will be playing for the 20 time NCAA basketball tournament team for the upcoming season. Crawford had a fairly successful season last year with an average of 3.4 rebounds and 9.7 points per game. He has started for eight out of the 30 games he played last season. Xavier coach Sean Miller said that Xavier will benefit from the inclusion of Jordan into the team as the 6 foot 4 inch player can play with any number of combinations. The tickets to the NCAA basketball games are currently on sale.

Ernie Kent to stay in Oregon till 2012-13 season

The extension of contract signed by the basketball coach Ernie Kent and Oregon University means that the famed NCAA basketball coach will be controlling the boys of the Oregon University until the 2012-13 season. Kent’s previous contract with the Oregon University was till 2010 and this new contract will see him earn an additional salary of $ 350,000. The head coach has performed really well in his tenure so far and the Oregon athletic director is hoping that his team features in many more NCAA tournament appearances under him. Ernie Kent said that he was happy with the new extension contact and that he hoped to bring many more laurels to Oregon in the coming years. There is no doubt that the Oregon fans will be rushing to grab their copy of tickets to their team’s games.

Coach Ernie Kent and Oregon have agreed to terms on a new contract that will run through the 2012-13 season. Kent is 211-134 as head coach at Oregon. He has guided the Oregon Ducks to 5 NCAA tournament appearances, the 2002 Pacific-10 Conference regular-season championship, and 2 conference tournament titles. It will take the place of Kent’s previous contract, which ran through 2010 and will raise Kent’s annual minimum guaranteed salary from $1 million to $1,060,000. With his stay, Kent will ensure a raise in the billings of game tickets.

He used to play for the University of Alabama-Birmingham last season. This Greek player will add a spark to the Ohio State lineup. Brandon Jennings chooses Europe over Arizona

Brandon Jennings committed to play at the University of Arizona a few months ago, well things have changed for the youngster. Jennings has decided to pursue a professional basketball career in Europe instead of attending Arizona. Jennings is a highly recruited point guard from Virginia who had not yet become academically eligible to play at Arizona. While awaiting results of his third college entrance exam, Jennings said he consulted with several people and felt this was best for him.  Jennings was higly recruited as one of the top point guards in the country and was expeced to start in the Arizona back court this year but instead will be playing for a team in Europe with no details of whom yet.  Arizona fans are a bit disappointed but still look for a successful year from their Wildcats.

Bob McKillop to stay as coach of Davidson

The Wildcats good run in the NCAA basketball tournament the last season might be one of the reasons that prompted their athletic director to agree for a multiyear contract with their existing coach Bob McKillop. Both the coach and the management of Davidson College have agreed to sign the multiyear contract extension, according to a spokesperson of the school and this breaking news will be made public shortly by the school. McKillop has been rendering his services as the basketball coach of the Wildcats for the past 19 seasons and his record stands at 340-225. There is no doubt that he will be as dedicated and committed with the Davidson team in the years to come. Tickets for the NCAA basketball tournament will go on sale shortly.

Woods heading to coach Mississippi Valley State University

The Texas Christian University assistant coach Sean Woods has headed to Mississippi Valley State University and has taken over as the head coach of the Mississippi University team. The athletic director of the Mississippi State University is absolutely thrilled to have Woods as the head coach of his team and is expecting him to take the team to greater heights in the upcoming season. Sean Woods has served for two years at Texas Christian University as the director of basketball operations and as the assistant coach. Cummard returns to Birmingham Young University

The Brigham Young University athletics guard Lee Cummard withdrew himself from the NBA draft and has decided to play in the senior team of BYU. Lee Cummard, the Western Conference co-player of the year, was responsible for the Brigham Cougars, a side that received good reviews last year, to lift the basketball conference title and will be happily welcomed into the team by the players, management as well as coach Dave Rose. The news of Cummard’s decision to play for the senior side of the BYU will result in the increase in the ticket sales for the next NCAA season. The coach expects Cummard to be in the thick of things this year also and hopes that he will be the leading force behind the team’s success in the forthcoming season as well.  

Crawford takes leave from Indiana team

The rookie NCAA basketball player of the Indiana team in 2007 Jordan Crawford has informed the management that he will not return to the Indiana University for the next season and this means that there are more problems for new coach Tom Crean. Crawford started in eight games last season for the Hoosiers where he averaged 9.7 points with a rebound average at 3.4. The family of Jordan Crawford informed the team management about their decision. The Indiana University fans are a dejected lot on hearing this news as they had expected even better things from Crawford this season.
